IGNRM

The Integrated Genetic and Natural Resources Management (IGNRM) approach allows programming to go beyond production and productivity increases, namely:

• Make major food crops in the SAT more productive, nutritious, safe and affordable for the poor
• Diversify utilization options for such staple food crops
• Encourage diversification into the production of other commodities including high value crops
• Develop tools and techniques to manage risk and use natural resources more sustainably
• Identify other sources of income and strengthen input delivery systems
