Welcome to the LIMS project
The Laboratory Information Management system (LIMS) is designed to automate the sample workflow associated with genotyping. Core functionality includes sample tracking (from DNA extraction to electrophoresis), generation of reports and files that can serve as input to the experimental process and data management. A Tutorial is available on how to use the sample tracking LIMS.
The earlier version of LIMS was developed using Microsoft technologies(ASP). The present version of LIMS has been designed using Open Source Technologies(Java). Both versions are available for downloading. Use the link below to begin download. The java LIMS downloads are available for MS-SQL Database as well as PosgreSQL Database.
The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) project was initiated in the year 2003 at ICRISAT. The prototype was hosted on the ICRISAT intranet for testing in 2004.
Java LIMS
The Laboratory Information Management System in Java has been funded out of the Generation Challenge Program.
Apart from incorporating all the functionality provided by the ASP LIMS, Java LIMS has integrated allele-binning program, which allows auto-binning .
The application is also available at cropforge (https://cropforge.org)
LIMS incorporates sample tracking and data management functions through four modules: Experimental Design, Sample Tracking, Reports, Protocols & Markers.
